No to AV

Ah well, the British public are definitely not interested in AV.

Now.. how we can get Nick Clegg off House of Lords reform before he sinks that!

You see I have always felt that a good way to mix the desire for big strong swings under FPTP, strong mandates to govern and strong governments being one of the best arguements for FPTP in my mind, is to have the upper House as a ‘Senate’ elected by PR on a party list, so the ‘revising house’ reflects everyone’s views and is less susceptible to big changes (which is the arguement for the non-elected version we have now), but of course with the Commons, as now, able to force the issue if they really want to.
